Henry Ashmore- gold digger

Born in Dover, Kent, England my ancestor, Henry Ashmore, emigrated to Australia shortly before the gold rush. He was living in Geelong, but when gold was first discovered near Ballarat in 1851 he headed for the diggings. Henry's search for gold took him as far away as New Zealand, however, he eventually went bankrupt and died at Creswick in 1884. Henry and his wife, Susan, have many descendants in Australia.

I have written a biography of Henry which can be obtained by contacting me. Please include details of your connection to the Ashmore family.
